Escape and Evade: SAS Challenge

Join us for an exhilarating one-day event where you'll evade a hunter force, decode messages, gather clues, and stay hidden. Guided by former military and special forces agents, assume the role of a fugitive aiming to reach an extraction point. Prepare to memorize a cover story, handle tactical questioning, negotiate, and rally public support. Embark on a mission to extract your team behind enemy lines, experiencing life as a covert special forces operator. Can you blend into your surroundings and avoid detection?

This one day event will give you a glimpse into the special forces training and test your mental wit and determination. The day will consist of the following:

• Initial brief and cover story from Stoic Directing Staff. This will include rules, out of bounds areas, medical briefs, mission announcement, and actions on capture.

• You will be set off individually or in teams to your first location to meet an agent and retrieve a clue/code

• You will continue to various checkpoints and will complete tasks/codebreakers at every checkpoint. This is all whilst a hunter force is hunting you down to capture.

• You will make your way to extraction point which will be revealed by putting all of the clues and codes together.

• Reach the extraction point without being captured to achieve your mission.

• If captured you will be questioned on why you are behind enemy lines, this is where your cover story will come into play.

• Please bring lunch/snacks and drinks as you will be on the run and need to eat on the move

• Please wear suitable clothing and footwear to cover all terrains

• Pack waterproof and warm clothing to cover all weathers.

• You do NOT have to be super fit for this event, just not carrying any injuries.

TIMINGS ⏰

Morning:

• 9:30 - Arrival & Briefing

• Participants gather at the designated start location.

• Introduction to the event by Stoic Events Team.

• Mission briefing: objectives, key checkpoints, and final extraction point.

• Cover story issued: essential in case of capture by the hunter force.

• Team formation and initial strategy discussions.

• 10:00 - 10:30 - The Mission Begins

• Team set off from the start point in 10-15 minute intervals.

• Navigate through a series of checkpoints spread across Birmingham City Centre.

• Interact with undercover agents to gather intelligence and obtain crucial mission updates.

• Solve code breakers and riddles to reveal next locations.

• Avoid detection from the hunter force, who are actively tracking movements.

Afternoon:

• 12:30 - Mission Continues (Lunch on the Move)

• No time for a sit-down break - teams must eat while staying on the move.

• Additional checkpoints introduce new challenges and potential encounters with hunters.

• Strategic decision-making: risk vs. reward scenarios (e.g., take a longer, safer route or risk a shortcut?).

• 15:00 - Final Push Extraction

• Last series of high-stakes checkpoints before reaching safely.

• Teams must work together to avoid the hunters.

• Make it to the extraction point undetected to successfully complete the mission.

• 16:00 - 16:30 - Mission Ends

• Participants regroup at the safe location.

• Event debrief: review footage, discuss strategies, and share highlights.

• Awards presented to each individual including challenge coin and certificate.

• Closing remarks and final reflections

• Depart 17:00 - 17:30

To secure your spot in this challenge, we require a £25 deposit, which will be fully reimbursed after the event has taken place. Your place will only be confirmed following your deposit payment.

Fundraising Requirements:

A group JustGiving page will be set up for fundraising and each participant is expected to raise a minimum of £200 for this challenge.

To secure your place you have to purchase a 'ticket' this is simply to pay your deposit and the ticket is just receipt of your payment and confirmation securing your position on the challenge.
