We were delighted to welcome Councillor Annette Mackenzie, the newly appointed Mayor of Solihull to The Lily Mae Foundation, where she spent time learning about the vital work we do to support families affected by the devastating loss of a baby.

During her visit, the Mayor met with our staff and the bereaved families who have received support from The Foundation. She dedicated time to listen, understand, and connect with the personal stories shared. She heard directly from those who have experienced baby loss, learning how our services have assisted them in coping with their grief and discovering hope in challenging times.
Visiting our offices allowed her to witness firsthand the extent of our support services and the significant impact they have on families during their most challenging times.
During her visit, the Mayor, along with bereaved siblings Jude and Sabriyah, assisted in assembling some of our treasured Memory Boxes. As usual, every detail was handled with care, highlighting the profound meaning and significance of each included item.
Councillor Annette Mackenzie's warmth and sincere concern were evident throughout the visit. Her involvement with our work underlines the crucial role that local leaders can have in increasing awareness, fostering discussions, and supporting families impacted by baby loss.
With continued support from Solihull Council and community leaders like the Mayor, The Lily Mae Foundation remains committed to reaching more families and driving forward the conversation around bereavement care and baby loss awareness.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mayor Annette Mackenzie for taking the time to visit, for listening with compassion, and for showing her support for the bereaved families following the devastating loss of a baby.
