Why Walk This February? Meet our Fundraiser Champions🚶🤍

Thinking of taking part in our February Walk Challenge this year? Here’s what some of our Fundraiser Champions from 2025 had to say about why they got involved and what the challenge meant to them.

Veronika’s Story: A Walk That Still Matters, Years Later

Veronika Henry took part in the Walk 60 Miles challenge last February, walking in memory of her son and helping raise vital funds and awareness for The Lily Mae Foundation.

“As a mum who has experienced baby loss, supporting this charity means so much to me. It reminded me that I wasn’t alone, even 11 years after losing my son, and by helping them support others I can honour his memory.”

Veronika’s fundraising helped highlight an important truth, support is so important across all points of your grief journey.

“Baby loss is still a difficult and often unspoken subject, but by coming together to support charities like this, we can help families feel safe reaching out for support.”

Cassie’s Story: Giving Back After Support Was Given

Cassie Parsons also took part in last year’s challenge, walking in memory of her baby brother Joshua, who died in 2018.

“Through all the grief and tears and the heartache, The Lily Mae Foundation was by mine and my family’s side. We were lucky enough to receive a memory box so we could always have a piece of him with us.”

Inspired by the comfort her family received, Cassie walked and fundraised so that other families could receive the same support.

“I believe that every family should be able to have a memory box. Not only do these boxes keep a piece of your baby close, they provide comfort and support to families who have experienced the heartbreak of losing a baby.”

Every £90 raised through the February Walk Challenge funds a Memory Box for a bereaved family. Thanks to supporters like Veronika and Cassie, families across the country received comfort at one of the hardest moments of their lives.

Carry their name with every step. 👣 Sign up today and raise £90 or more to receive a personalised shoe tag. Engraved with your baby’s name, this beautiful keepsake serves as a lasting tribute to your journey and your incredible dedication to The Lily Mae Foundation.
